Green Drinks with Loews Hotels to Celebrate Earth Hour

Loews Hotels is prepping for Earth Hour 2009-- when a billion people in 1,000 cities will turn off the lights to show their commitment to global sustainability (and get governments to act against global warming!). All 17 Loews Hotels properties will turn off lights and equipment on March 28th. To honor Earth Hour, Loews is inviting guests to try an organic Green Gin & Tonic specialty cocktail and a menu of sustainably grown wines. (All proceeds from cocktail sales will be donated to Loews Hotels' charity partner, the Modest Needs foundation.) Here's the recipe for the green cocktail- in case you want to try it at home:

Organic Green Gin & Tonic

Ingredients:

.25 oz. Organic Lime Juice

2 Basil leaves

1 oz. Mighty Green Leaf Tea

2 oz. Hendrick's Gin

4 oz. Tonic

Instructions:

Muddle basil and lime juice

Add with all other ingredients in shaker

Shake and strain over ice

Garnish with lime on the side of the glass
