Another Reason to Celebrate: July 14th is Bastille Day

July 13, 2009| By:Alison Victor

St Regis San Francisco Just as July Fourth is to Americans, France is getting ready to celebrate the storming of the Bastille, also known as the beginning of the French Revolution, on July 14th. Bastille Day is not only a national French holiday, but also a momentous event observed all over the world. If you happen to be in San Francisco on Tuesday, you are in luck: it is home to the largest Bastille Day street festival in the US. Starting at noon in, where else, the French Quarter, this day-long event will feature lots of food, drink, music, and celebration. And after a long day of festivities, why not sleep off the excitement with a room at the St Regis Hotel San Francisco? With rates starting at around 350 USD, you can afford to say "oui."
