Summer Lodge Country House Hotel and Spa

Nestled in the heart of Thomas Hardy's Evershot, Dorset, the Summer Lodge Hotel is a luxurious quintessential English country house set on four acres of manicured gardens. The Relais & Chateaux property has a 3-rosette restaurant and extensive wine cellar with selections chosen by the hotel's award-winning sommelier.

Each of the 20 guest rooms and four luxury suites features different traditional English country decor, designed to appeal to varying moods and personalities with rich fabrics, crisp Belgian linens warmed with hot water bottles, scented candles, fresh fruit, and homemade shortbread. Accommodations feature modern amenities including air conditioning, and flat-screen TVs with DVD players. While bathrooms have REN toiletries, and some suites and cottages have fireplaces.

The property's spa offers a relaxing sanctuary with a variety of services and treatments designed to rejuvenate the body and mind. There's also a fitness center, jacuzzi, sauna, and indoor pool set within a glass conservatory.

For fine dining, the hotel's restaurant offers an upscale setting with traditional English dishes infused with modern European touches and prepared using produce from the property's gardens, plus meats and seafoods sourced locally. Proper English afternoon tea is served in the Drawing Room, and guests can visit the hotel's sister property, the Acorn Inn for dining in the village of Evershot.

For recreation, guests can wander the hotel's meticulously tended grounds with wide green lawns and produce gardens, including shady spots ideal for relaxing. There's also a hard tennis court and croquet on the lawn.
