Opening in December 2007, Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai will be a deluxe city resort distinctively styled and designed with inspiration taken from its Northern Thailand location. Situated in a peaceful, beautifully landscaped setting the hotel will offer a large free-form swimming pool surrounded by mature plants such as frangipani, bamboo, ginger and lotus ponds, creating a pleasant and relaxed resort ambiance. Generous use of teak, Thai architectural influences combined with uncompromising Shangri-La standards and a contemporary style will set new standards for luxury hotels in the region. Open, light-filled spaces utilizing local artefacts, materials and rich fabrics will create an environment fully evocative of this exotic and culturally rich location.

Conveniently located close to the bustling activity of Chiang Mai's famous Night Bazaar, and just a 10-minute drive from Chiang Mai International Airport, this "city resort" also enjoys close proximity to fascinating museums, cultural centres, and Chiang Mai's many temples, shops and boutiques.
