The likely reason for this should be the previously existing "house in the park". The first was built in simple style 1871. And the second "house in the park", built in conjunction with an exposition, was and expensive and pompous building representing the desire to comply with the power expansion at the pinnacle of Kaiser Wilhelm's reign. Breath-taking fireworks in 1907 sealed the parking house's fate. It burnt down to its foundation, and only after further 6 years the third parking house was established. During World War II, the Bürgerpark was bombed and "the house in the park" was damaged heavily. The architects Anker and Rosenbusch designed the new 'Park Hotel Bremen', and in May 1956 its opening was celebrated. Since that time, the Bürgerpark of Bremen inspires its visitors and offers them a nature experience of a special kind in this grand park landscape. Amidst the park landscape laid out with artistic skill, but nevertheless appearing natural parkscape, you will find security and the part of silence, which got lost during every day's hectic.
