With 140 of its 310 rooms already closed because of damage caused by the Oct. 15, 2006 earthquake that hit the Big Island, the shutdown follows engineering reports that identified additional damage. No time frame has been set for a reopening. Guests booked at the hotel are being assisted in making alternative reservations. The resort's golf course and clubhouse remain open.
