Al Shada Palace - The palace was built in 1927 by the order of HR Majesty the late King A Aziz as the headquarters of the prince of the district. It now serves as a museum displaying exhibits of regional handicrafts, household goods and ancient artefacts. Al Habbla- This hanging village clings precariously to the side of a mountain and was first inhabited 375 years ago when its only access was by rope, thereby protecting the Gahtani tribe who, with their sheep and goats, took refuge here from the invading Turks. The Ottoman Fort -This fort, in the Asir region, was left by the Turks in 1917 and is well worth seeing.
