Location Summary
Located in the historical heart, Hotel Palace Bonvecchiati is one of the newer and better 4-star hotels in Venice, as well as one of the closer ones to Saint Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge. It is in Calle dei Fabbri, in the central area, although away from the usual tourist bustle, and in an excellent position from which to visit the city on foot. in the labyrinth of narrow streets and small squares around the hotel you can find the most beautiful and popular sites of Venice, the stunning Saint Mark's Square, with the Basilica, Museo Correr, Ducal Palace and the historical Caffe Florian and Quadri, theatres famous the world over (the Goldoni and La Fenice Theater), the most prestigious boutiques of the master glassmakers of Murano (Venini, Barovier and many others), and Italian and international designer brand shops (Gucci, Cartier, Versace, etc.). Rialto Bridge can be reached in 5 minutes. Browse through the shops that line it, you will find yourself among the colorful stands of the characteristic fruit and vegetable market, and a little further on, you will see the even more picturesque ones of the famous fish market. You will find yourself in the heart of the most authentic Venice.
Directions to Hotel
From the highway follow the indications to Venice. Park your car in the parking space on the island of Tronchetto (on the right, after the long bridge linking Venice to the mainland) or the one in Piazzale Roma, the car terminal. Then take a private water taxi that will get you directly to the hotel in 20 minutes, or take public steamboat lines 1 and 2 to Rialto. Get off at Ponte di Rialto after 15-20 minutes and continue on foot for 3 minutes until you reach the hotel.
