Excellent

Excellent accommodation. Good for sightseeing. Awesome vibe.

An early 19th-century antebellum mansion set in 26 acres of manicured gardens. Monmouth Plantation is a National Historic Monument. Reflecting all that is charming about the South, expect gracious hospitality, excellent cuisine, wine tasting, historic tours of the house and a lovingly restored garden.

With an ambiance reminiscent of a bygone age, the rooms and suites are as perfect as a picture. Available either in the Monmouth Inn main house or in any of the eight outbuildings, they have period furnishings and antebellum-era antiques. Some benefit from a Jacuzzi and a fireplace.

Wander around the meticulously nurtured gardens amidst blooming magnolias, roses, azaleas and Monmouth Historic Inn and Garden's signature collection of angel statuary, accompanied by the gentle humming of cicadas. Then, enjoy "amuses bouches" in the Quitman Study followed by dinner in the parlour on a table dressed in fine linens, gleaming silver, sparkling crystal and timelessly elegant china.
