The 165-bedroom The Lowry Hotel in Manchester opened in April 2001 and is the city's premier five-star hotel with an excellent location close to the thriving city center. The hotel has a dedicated floor of conference and banqueting suites accommodating up to 600 guests, with a separate entrance at street level.

The stunning presidential Charles Forte Suite is the North West's most prestigious suite, complete with a master bedroom and double-sized walk-in dressing room, double bathroom, spacious reception area and an elegant dining room featuring a baby grand piano. The hotel's River Restaurant is run by award-winning Executive Chef, Eyck Zimmer, Knorr National Chef of the Year 2006. The Lowry Hotel also has a lively bar and luxurious spa.

"The room was OK but I did not see a difference with a 4 star hotel. Location of the hotel is good, just next to the city centre. Views on both sides are not attractive. Service of the concierge is good. Front desk could be improved, little bit arrogant. The restaurant (we only used breakfast) is understaffed. On the Sunday morning we had to wait too long to get any service."

"Very efficient on arrival. The fastest check in that we have ever experienced. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The food was excellent. The location was very convenient for the shopping centre. Not much of a view, but we did not expect anything else in the town centre. The service was excellent. Overall a very enjoyable experience and we shall be back again."
