Opened in March 2006, the 21C Museum Hotel is a newly-opened boutique hotel in the center of Louisville and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel is the first of its kind — a 91-room hotel dedicated to Southern-style luxuries and contemporary art from living artists, with a 5,000 square foot exhibition space in the atrium. Among many amenities, every room offers iPods with custom music provided to each guest upon check in, poster art in each room available for sale, 42" HDTV flat screen televisions, 500 threadcount sheets, sterling silver mint julep cups and nightly turn down service. The hotel also offers a full exercise facility with a steam room, sauna and spa services.

"C21 is like no other hotel in Louisville - the hotel's art exhibits alone are worth the trip to Louisville, and the red penguins from 'crazy art' make you feel right at home. For such an upscale boutique hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant attached to the hotel, Proof, is a gem. The hotel is centrally located near the Louisville arts center and Actor's Theater and many other points of interest. C21 is truly exceptional!"

"The hotel itself is fabulous. I loved the room we had with a terrace. The art is amazing. The bar is great. The food is terrific. The problems I had with the hotel are as follows - 1. No movie channels or access to a DVD player. Came for a relaxing weekend and wanted to chill out and watch movies. 2. NO ROOM SERVICE basically all day Sunday. This definitely needs to change. 3. I had made reservations for two massages on Sunday morning but only one masseuse showed up. I was very disappointed. There should have been confirmation notices upon arrival (like at other luxury hotels) of all our reservations. 4. Our room was never made up even though we requested a clean up and put the sign on the door. Very disappointing. "

"The ambience and the fantastic modern art makes this hotel a unique experience. Great location in Louisville. Staff very nice. Actual rooms are interesting from a design perspective but, in terms of amenities comparable to other hotels of similar quality with the exception of the cool ipod. Staff very nice. Was fortunate to get a very good rate. Would definitely stay there again."
