Privately owned and passionately run, One Aldwych is London's most exciting contemporary hotel. Located in the middle of it all in Covent Garden, One Aldwych is within walking distance of all the theaters, museums and city sites. Built in 1907, the hotel is housed in one of the most important Edwardian buildings in London (English Heritage protected). The dignified exterior- featuring a distinctive copper cupola dome- is harmoniously balanced with the brilliant contemporary interiors. The hotel boasts a private contemporary art and sculpture collection of over 400 pieces. One Aldwych is home to London's most exciting restaurants and bars. The hip Axis Restaurant has a classic European menu with a modern twist. The happening Lobby Bar, described by the press as one of the top hotel bars in the world, serves serious cocktails and delectable bar food. The fully equipped multi-media screening room seats up to 30 in graduated comfortable, Italian-made cinema seating. Each seat is upholstered in blue leather and has a small table for that dry martini. The room features a 35mm film projection with dolby SR wide screen and cinemascope, Betacam SP player, DVD, Capability for 16mm film projection and slide projection, Fully compatible with electronic presentations including Powerpoint, Video projection, VHS (NTSC,SECAM) player, movies and popcorn, champagne cocktails and martinis.

In a fabulous double height contemporary space, Axis boasts classic European menu with a modern twist. Fantastic for lunch, pre or post theatre supper or dinner. In September 2002, the restaurant was shortlisted for the 'Modern British and European Restaurant of the Year' award by the Restaurateurs Association. Indigo is the relaxed informal restaurant overlooking the buzz of the Lobby Bar, serving creative modern European cuisine, organic produce and light and healthy options. Open every day for breakfast, lunch, pre and post theatre suppers and dinner. Hot from the day it opened, The Lobby Bar is set in a stunning double height space with original contemporary sculptures. Personal trainers are available to provide dedicated one-to-one assistance.
