Location Summary
In northern Thailand, bordering Burma (Myanmar) to the north and Laos to the east, mountainous Chiang Rai province lies an average of 580 metres (1,900 feet) above sea level. The northern-most part of the province is an area well known for its surrealistic mountain sceneries and picture-perfect sea of cloud and mist. In this fairy-tale setting live some of Thailand's oldest civilisations - the colourful hilltribes, each with unique culture, distinctive customs and mystic charm.

Directions to Hotel
By air: Chiang Rai is a 75-minute flight from Bangkok International Airport and a 30-minute flight from Chiang Mai International Airport. Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) is located 8 kilometres (5 miles) from downtown Chiang Rai, about 65 kilometres (40 miles) south of the Tented Camp. The airport is serviced by Thai Airways, Orient Thai Airlines, and AirAsia, which offers daily flights from Chiang Mai International Airport.

By road from Chiang Mai: The four-hour journey between Chiang Mai and the Tented Camp is one of the most scenic drives in Thailand, passing dozens of hill-tribe villages. Some villages are small and far from the main road, others have paved streets and electricity, but all are unique and well worth the visit. Your Camp Host will be pleased to arrange transportation on request. Services provided by the Hotel
