Das Stue
Consisting of an historical portion and a new addition by Potsdam-based Axthelm Architects, the 79-room the SO Sofitel Das Stue is located in a traditional diplomatic neighborhood. The area's past is laden with historical importance, influence, and power. The many grand embassy buildings surrounding the hotel are a testament to the district's longstanding international orientation. The hotel is, in fact, a rethink of Berlin's former Royal Danish embassy, a landmarked 1930's structure with its own story and great bones. A stately, slightly curved grey stone facade greets guests outdoors. Inside, an overhead wave of hundreds of tiny lights draws them into a grand entrance hall flanked by two sweeping staircases. Under the lights, a jaw-dropping sculpture of a crocodile’s head prompts visitors to decelerate, marvel, and transition into an environment that brilliantly melds the contemporary and traditional.

The love and appreciation for art of the owners of Das Stue is constantly visible throughout the whole property. All public areas display a curated selection of their private collection, boasting an impressive range of early fashion photography and portraits. Guests can marvel at black-and-white works from the likes of Horvat, Steichen or Newton, commissioned from magazines like Harper's Bazaar or Vogue from the 50's and 60's as well as distinctly private shots of movie stars like Dorian Leigh, Marilyn Monroe and Marlene Dietrich, captured by Penn, Avedon or Bohrmann.

The Stue Rooms offer guests a peaceful view over Tiergarten and the Berlin Zoo with a size of 27 square meters. Thanks in part to floor-to-ceiling windows the guest experiences tranquility in the heart of Berlin. Generously sized Suites, with sizes of 70 square meters and five meter high ceilings, are an ideal place to relax, regenerate, and awake new energies. Some offer beautiful views of the peaceful Tiergarten.

The Michelin-starred fine dining experience of 5 (Cinco) offers Paco Perez's avant-garde molecular-leaning Mediterranean cuisine. Particularly impressive in Cinco are the avant-garde tasting menus, reaching up to 25 courses. Rituals of nurturing and pampering are combined with the ancient knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine to create a holistic entity in the Susanne Kaufman Boutique SPA. Wholesome products are used, containing no chemical additives or colorants. Facial and body treatments are centered on anti-aging and active regeneration – awakening new life energies and bringing vitality into the daily routine. Located next to the historic stairwell and the library, the central Bel Etage Salon is the perfect location for cocktail receptions or private dinners, small meetings, or press conferences.
