The actual Hotel was built in the 16th century as a Jesuit Monastery, in the middle of a centuries old park. It has been a hotel since 1822. This oasis of tranquility has been the destination for such distinguished travellers as Goethe, Anderson, Freud, the Duke of Wellington and many more.
