Recession Hits the Caribbean, Great Deals Abound

Cambridge BeachesJust like everyone else, the Caribbean is feeling the effects of the global downturn. Which means there are some great deals to be had for intrepid travelers. Here's a small sampling of what we found, and as always, these great deals are subject to availability, and certain terms, restrictions, taxes and other fees may apply (so check the small print before you book):

*Cambridge Beaches in Bermuda has a Honeymoon Romance Package from $825, includes champagne, flowers, in-room breakfast, couples massage and $300 spa credit, among other goodies, through April 15, 2009.

*Old Bahama Bay on Grand Bahama Island is offering an "Endless Summer" for travelers. Luxury suite accommodations start at just $199 per night from now until March 31, 2009.

*Turks and Caicos Club is offering a 4 night/5 day Romantic Escape by the Sea starting at $3,540. Book your vacation for after April 12, 2009, and the base price drops to $2,895.

*Jamaica's highly desired Half Moon wants you to experience How the Other Half Lives. From now until April 15, 2009, rates are from $609 per night based on a minimum 3-night stay, and includes one Swedish massage for each full paying adult.
