President’s Choice: The Suite at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace
November 4, 2010By: Mary Winston Nicklin
Mumbai's legendary Taj Mahal Palace is back on top. After the deadly terrorist attacks two years ago, the five-star hotel has completely refurbished its heritage wing (the part of the hotel that sustained most of the damage). Now the staff is prepping the refurbished Presidential Suite for its first occupants this weekend: President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. The Obamas are in good company; the palatial suite has hosted a slew of A-list guests-- from Prince Charles and the King of Morocco to Tina Turner and Mick Jagger. Furnished with antiques and original paintings, the suite has Italian marble floors and a patio overlooking the harbor. Rumored cost per night: $4,000. Related Hotels
