The smell of chlorine and 
the moist, humid air are familiar to anyone who has ever set foot in an indoor pool. But the pool at Splendide Royal Hotel Rome, the five-star luxury hotel, is definitely not in the same league as the community pool at the YMCA. The oval-shaped swimming pool is invitingly tucked underneath a serene blue ceiling with a round skylight. The indoor swimming pool is 8m x 12m large, 80cm to 180cm deep and the water heated at a temperature of 28°C. There are also two saunas, and a solarium. Marco, Polo, anyone?
