September 11, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

We all know Lady Gaga for her exorbitant meat dresses and funky fresh pop music, but she also has a charitable side. According to ABC, Lady Gaga met a British couple who were having their wedding reception at the Dorchester in London. After a conversation, the lovely couple must have made quite an impression for Lady Gaga gifted them a stay in a deluxe room as a wedding gift. Unfortunately, her offer was declined possibly because the couple already had honeymoon plans, but it’s certainly the thought that counts! Be sure to explore the Dorchester here, which is a celebrity hotspot with Rihanna and Jay-Z also rumored to have stayed there. Would you turn down a free hotel stay from Lady Gaga or anyone else for that matter? If not, be sure to sign up for our newsletter to automatically be entered to win a free luxury hotel stay!

Buy Some Apples: Four Seasons Best Hotel on the Orchard Road

April 23, 2012
By: Christopher Roney

One of the big attractions of Singapore is its iconic Orchard Road, a luxury shopping district that rivals the Kurfurstendamm in Berlin or Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Many of our travelers have expensive tastes, and we've learned only to suggest the tip-top in boutique designer stores alongside the bigger name-brands. Singapore's Orchard Road has them in droves; choice is the name of the game here. The Four Seasons Singapore brings old-world luxury to the center of the modern shopping district. It carries all of the elegance and international standards of the Four Seasons brand, and infuses it with the metropolitan flair of one of Southeast Asia's cultural centers. You'll love staying in any of its 250 rooms and especially the top-of-the-line suites, which are guaranteed to have enough closet space for your new acquisitions. Catch views of the Orchard Boulevard or the Botanical Gardens from the very best rooms while getting ready for an in-room massage from one of their personal treatment specialists. You can also head downstairs to experience some exquisite classical Cantonese or modern European cuisine. The Four Seasons Singapore is great stop for the prospective shopper looking to find everything that the Orchard Road has to offer.

Exclusive and ‘Invisible’ Art at the W Hotel Paris Opera

April 13, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

This swanky hotel opened up just two months ago, and it is certainly a beautiful luxury hotel in Paris worth checking out! Located in the heart of the City of Lights, the W Hotel Paris Opera is just steps from the Granier Opera House, the Rue de la Paix, and the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. While its beautiful rooms and phenomenal location make this hotel worth visiting, the unique and exclusive art installation displayed in only one of the hotel’s suites gives the W Hotel Paris Opera pizazz. In suite 112, the work of French artist Zevs is proudly displayed but invisible to the naked eye. The artist’s dripping Louis Vuitton logos and tears streaming down portraits can only be seen with a black light, making these displays that much more fascinating. Be sure to visit this one-of-a kind hotel to experience a new kind of art display and see the best of Paris!

Check out the tweet below to view the art installation for yourself!

What Transpired at the Hotel Wilshire?

April 4, 2012
By: Christopher Roney

Jenna Talackova is a controversial figure and an amazing one at that. A symbol of the movement for trans rights, the famous transgender was recently removed by Donald Trump from his Miss Universe competition after it was made public that she entered the competition as a transgender, a complicated move to arbitrate since she clearly identifies wholly as female, so to speak of her as subverting the rules of the competition misunderstands it.  And it's certainly not a case of taking advantage of anti-discrimination; Miss Talackova is gorgeous and everything that the Miss Universe pageant looks for, which in and of itself challenges negative preconceptions about transgendered people.  Fortunately, after a public outcry, they reinstated Jenna Talackova in the competition.

Now Jenna Talackova is out and about, furthering her modeling career at the Hotel Wilshire, and she's been barred from something else. Only this time, it has nothing to do with discrimination, just an unauthorized photo shoot.  She and her entourage arrived at the Hotel Wilshire with cameramen in tow, ready to take some model shots. However, the room they had been offered was not ready for them, so they moved up to the pool deck without authorization and began a shoot alongside the hotel's lovely restaurant.  The hotel shut it down for the sake of the guests dining in their establishment and Miss Talackova had to move inside to another prepared room where she could continue her photo shoot.  This is a star I'm following with interest, and I'm happy to see her making use of a great Los Angeles establishment in the Hotel Wilshire.

Flour Child: Kardashian Flour-Bombed at London West Hollywood

March 25, 2012
By: Christopher Roney

Like many people, it's difficult for me to avoid a good case of vigilantism, and while this strikes me as being a little more pointless and undirected than, say, glitter bombing, it did happen at a hotel, and Kim Kardashian is probably the most famous person to be covered in a fine layer of cooking flour this weekend.  Ms. Kardashian was heading down the red carpet at The London West Hollywood to launch her new perfume called True Reflection.  In this case, the image reflected would be a pastry white. Although this does lead me to consider my own line of perfumes, styled after various baked goods.  There's really nothing that can match the allure of a batch of fresh chocolate chip cookies.

Events were barely interrupted by the light dusting, and I'm sure all remnants of the flour will be cleaned up by your next stay at the London West Hollywood.  Although you might want to be careful; it is frequented by a number of Hollywood's rich and famous, and you never know when the next half-baked avenger might strike.  Collateral damage of flour bombing can be high, especially if they use the self-rising kind.  Because if you put it in an oven it might bake a little more softly? I don't know, jokes about flour are kind of hard.  Anyway, should you wish to brave the trenches of the great battle between our nation's bakers and the celebrities they happen to loathe, the London West Hollywood is a lovely hotel, and you should most definitely check it out.
