Land and sea elements will stimulate young imaginations in three distinct conceptual areas — for infants/toddlers, bathroom independent 3-5 year olds, and 6-12 year olds. Kidtopia provides: a nursery (6 months to 3 years, for two consecutive hours of care at a time); night camp program on weekends; small slides and soft climb items; books, puzzles, blocks, games, and a craft center; a towering seven-foot tree house with slide, nooks, cubbies, and windows; a comfortable movie lounge; personal high-tech entertainment stations; pressure-sensitive light floor for games and dancing; and a 600-gallon saltwater aquarium filled with exotic fish.

Legos, original barbie dolls, and beanie babies send us all back to our childhoods, so we certainly squeeled like little kids when we heard about Legoland Hotels. Set to open on April 5th 2013 in Carlsbad California, this will be the first Legoland Hotel in the United States and the third in the world with the two already up and running in the United Kingdom and Denmark.
We’re looking forward to having life-sized, lego built employees including bell hops and dragons dispersed throughout the property. All of the 250 rooms are decorated in accordance with one of Lego’s three most popular product styles (Kingdom, Adventure, or Pirate), and feature perks like mini-fridges and in-room treasure hunts. Rooms also feature free Wi-Fi, flatscreen televions, and all of the lego bricks you could ever want in a lifetime!
If a visit to Legoland Park is all you need, be sure to explore the 2 luxury hotels in Carlsbad for a vacation full of kid-friendly fun and luxury!

Every year the pastry chefs at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad create the Gingerbread Mountain Village, a sight to behold. Chef Franck Riffaud and his team use more than 22 pounds of gingerbread dough, 400 pounds of sugar icing and 18 pounds of chocolate to build an amazing village that includes Santa’s Workshop, Frosty’s Ski-Daddle Ski School, Snow Tube Rental and Blitzen’s Ale & Spirits. On display in the Lobby from November 27th through December 26th, the Gingerbread Mountain Village is one of the area's must-see holiday attractions.
Celebrate the festive season with a gingerbread housemaking-class at the resort. With a step-by-step tutorial on the art of gingerbread modeling, the hands-on decorating class will teach you how to create the perfect dough, to hand-color, and to add artful details with icing and gum paste. Of course you'll indulge in plenty of delicious treats during the course, and all confections made in class can be taken home with you. The first class will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, with additional classes on December 10th and 17th. All classes are held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and are priced at $20 for adults and $15 for children. Unlimited gingerbread houses for decoration are available for $25 each.
