Trump Turnberry
The first official record of golf at Trump Turnberry Resort is a letter dated 30th July 1892 from William Murray, a banker in Girvan, to Thomas Smith, the Lord Ailsas factor. The letter was "a proposal to form a golf club for Girvan, Maybole and Kirkoswald on suitable links which could be got at Turnberry."

A public meeting of interest was called by Mr. Murray on Saturday 27th August 1892 to discuss the possibility of forming a Golf Club at Turnberry.

The 6th July 1901 saw the opening of the first course at Turnberry. The links course was an immediate success. Designed by the great Willie Fernie, it was the longest in the west of Scotland, with a total distance of 6248 yards.Turnberry Resort

On Saturday 30th August 1902, a formal ceremony marked Turnberry Golf Club's inaugural gathering, followed by a match between two teams headed by the Club Captain and Vice Captain.

Today, the resort is home to the iconic Ailsa, an Open Championship course four times over, Watson, Norman, and Price have all won the famous Claret Jug here at Turnberry. And, in 2009, Stewart Cink added his name to that exclusive list following his play-off triumph over Tom Watson at the 138th Open - or better known as the British Open to American duffers.

Mar Hall

Mar Hall was designed in the 19th century by Sir Robert Smirke. Smirke was well known for his work on the legendary British Museum in London. Smirke was commissioned by Major General Robert Walter Stuart, the 11th Lord Blantyre, whose family had purchased the grounds and estate some one hundred years previously.

Mar was one of the seven kingdoms in ancient Scotland. Legend has it that both Mary Queen of Scots and Robert the Bruce visited the Mar Estate.

A quarry on the estate provided the stone for building, and the oak used was imported from Canada. Construction was not completed until 1845, fifteen years after Lord Blantyre's death. The final cost for the grand hall was a cool £50,000.

The stately hall fell into disrepair over the remainder of the 20th century, but underwent a £15million restoration that was completed in 2004.

The Edwardian Scottish Mansion has 53 individually designed bedrooms, a championship golf course, Decleor Spa, swimming pool and offers both fine dining and casual dining options.

Radisson Blu Hotel GlasgowWhile checking out one of the coolest cities around, why not check into the newly renovated Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow? The stylish hotel-- the recipient of numerous architectural awards-- just unveiled a refurbishment that sexed up the 250 guest rooms. The makeover means new decor, beds, flooring, and in-room amenities like iPod docking stations. (A brand signature: free wifi Internet access throughout the hotel.) The guest rooms now showcase two distinct styles. Gallery Rooms feature artwork by photographer Brian Sweeny and vintage posters from Glasgow's iconic Sub Club-- alluding to the hotel's proximity to Glasgow's legendary music venues. In contrast, City Club Rooms are light-filled spaces with wood floors and punches of red.

Glasgow's Riverside MuseumA happening music scene, farm-to-table cuisine and hot hotels... Glasgow is the place to be. And another tempting reason to jet to Scotland ASAP: This UNESCO City of Music will be opening the Riverside Museum on June 21, a dazzling building by Pritzker prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid. Sprawling along the River Clyde, the museum is dedicated to transport and travel, paying homage to Glasgow's history as a shipbuilding capital. The inside is just as dazzling as the outside, showcasing every type of transportation imaginable. (Trust us- we had a peak inside before the official opening date.)
