The newly renovated Hotel Gritti Palace was originally commissioned in 1525 as the residence of the Doge of Venice, Andrea Gritti. It was later used as the official residence of the Vatican's ambassadors to Venice. Guests may enjoy their meals on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal from May or even earlier, weather permitting, until October.
