Did You Know? Certosa di Maggiano

Certosa di Maggiano is a former Carthusian monastery that was built in 1314. It was paid for by a donation by Cardinal Riccardo Petroni as a place designed for meditation and prayer. In in the XVI century involved in a harsh war between Carl V Emperor of Spain and Henry II King of France. It was first restored as a private home and then became a luxury hotel in 1978.
