January 3, 2014| By:Five Star Alliance

Got a flair for fashion? Want to feel like royalty? Here are two updated suites that should fit the bill: The Four Seasons Hotel Milano recently renovated its Fashion and Royal Suites, and we think they're worth a peek. (Click on images to view larger versions).

Interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon (who also redesigned hotels like the Goring and the Savoy in London) recreated the spaces, both located in the Hotel's casa ringhiera wing and arranged around open balconies that overlook a glass-covered atrium.

Rochon gave the space a home-like atmosphere by adding a library and using different styles of furniture- "like people do in private apartments," Rochon said.

A white leather partition divides the bedroom area from the lounge space. The bed is now positioned to face the suite's step-out balcony (top views across the rooftops of Milan, we hear). The suite's sitting and reading room has a fireplace that overlooks a private terrace and garden manicured with iconic Mediterranean plants. The kitchenette is equipped with temperature-controlled wine refrigerators and modern tools for preparing meals. With a decidedly contemporary look, the Fashion Suite (Suite 444) on the fourth floor of the Hotel evokes the 1950s and 60s with furniture pieces by Saarinen and a color scheme of bright kelly green with black and white accents.

The suite has a long terrace bordered with hedges and a Knoll table and chairs fitted with cushions for a relaxing afternoon in the fresh air.

Both the Royal Suite and the Fashion Suite were restyled as part of the Hotel's ongoing room refurbishment project.

A dramatically reborn 15th-century convent with a mere 118 rooms and suites, the intimate Four Seasons is steps from Milan's couture houses and financial district on the exclusive Via Gesu between Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga.
