Experience a Luxurious Mexico Vacation Getaway to Zihuatanejo Bay. Hugging the white sands of Zihuatanejo Bay's serene Playa La Ropa, The Tides Zihuatanejo, formerly Hotel Villa Del Sol, is a romantic hideaway reclining along one of Mexico's most beautiful beaches. Admired for its "laid-back atmosphere and polished rooms" by Travel + Leisure magazine, the resort's terracotta-tiled villas and thatched palapa cabanas merge with the green sea of rustling coconut palms, tropical gardens and gentle waterfalls that enfold it.

Thirty-seven luxurious guestrooms and 35 suites are housed in two-story, adobe-inspired casitas tastefully decorated with local Mexican art and clad in vibrant colors reflective of the tropics. Each room in this Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo hotel is unique in design and features a private terrace or balcony. Suites include intimate, outdoor infinity-pools for soaking up the views.

Six hundred feet of private beach stretch along the azure waters of the resort's splendid Pacific coastline, strewn with teak lounge chairs and exclusive palapas. Guests may luxuriate in four swimming pools, including a 60-foot lap pool and a fantastic infinity pool poised at water's edge - as if spilling directly into the sea.

An intimate spa features a beachfront massage palapa, three treatment rooms and a fitness center. Area activities are abundant and include tennis golf, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, wind surfing, deep sea fishing and water skiing. Award-winning Mexican Pacific cuisine at two gourmet dining venues and the convivial ambience of three bars completes a truly captivating Mexican Riviera vacation experience.

Five Star Alliance Client Reviews - Tides Zihuatanejo

"Small and wonderful. You feel like you’re the only on in paradise when you stay at Villa Del Sol. My girlfriend loved her visit and it was relaxing for the both of us."

"Villa Del Sol is definitely a tropical paradise. We had a lagoon suite on the second floor with a great view, but we toured some of the other suites: beach, garden and they were wonderful too. The mini infinity pool was wonderful and not so mini. In my experience this is the best beach on the west coast of Mexico. We were very impressed with the design of the resort and the great attention to details in architecture, landscape, and service. The chaise lounges under the palapas with the dining table with linen tables cloths right next to them is a nice touch. For us this resort of 72 rooms and suites was just the right size as it allowed for two restaurants, both of which were very good. I would recommend Villa Del Sol to everyone except those who like a lot of nightlife. "
Lynn V, New York, NY. September, 2006
"The hotel was simply amazing. The service was exceptional - from the moment we were greeted with a refreshing spa towel and cocktail to the coffee delivered every morning - it was fantastic. The rooms were great, the property was amazing. We will definitely go back. "
