"On checking in our room wasn't yet available for us to check-in, but we were offered the club floor for an additional cost, which we took. So glad we did, the room was lovely, great views over Darling Harbour (although it was a foggy day so we didn't get the full impact of the view) but it was the staff who went out of their way that really impressed us. We had tried several restaurants only to find they were full and the restaurant at the hotel was also, but we asked to be put on a waiting list there. When we came back late in the afternoon there was a message that we had a reservation in their restaurant, Altitude. And what a fabulous experience that was. Akin to dining in Paris without ridiculous prices, and a view that blew your mind. The complimentary drinks and breakfast in the Club Lounge were nice touches. All in all, we'd certainly recommend to friends and hope to return ourselves."

"The overall room, ambience, experience was lovely, however the other parts of the experience was below average. Check-in was slow. The rate was excellent, but then I was charged and exorbitant amount for parking. We could not get into the Blu Horizon bar at 6PM for cocktails because it was too busy and then the English pub downstairs 'Harts' was not open. The bar in the lobby area is bland and I was not somewhere that I would like to sit and have an intimate conversation with my partner. I was disappointed not to have been able to have a drink at the hotel. The room was lovely and the location is excellent."

"Hotel offered wonderful service and great location. The room was spacious and the bed was definitely the most comfortable that we've ever slept on. The executive lounge was like an extension of our room... great place to sit down and relax, watch TV, use the computer or have something to eat or drink. The view from the lounge was beautiful as we looked down on the Sydney Opera House, the Rocks, and the Sydney Bridge. It just doesn't get any better than that!"

"A real haven, with excellent service. I was upgraded to a deluxe harbour view room with the greatest views of Sydney harbour. The location is the best! The thing that sets luxury hotels apart from one another is service. The Shangri-la in Sydney is a more intimate hotel with the excellent, discreet levels of service one associates with Asia. The rooms and bathrooms are lovely too."
