Hotel Beau Rivage — Nice, France
Hotel Beau Rivage
Nice, France
Located in the heart of the old town, a few steps from the Promenade des Anglais and within walking distance from the Acropolis convention center, the Hotel Beau Rivage has completed a full scale renovation program in 2004, under the supervision of the famous French Architect Jean Michel Wilmotte. While remaining true to the historical and artistic tradition of the hotel, preserving the building's 19th century facade, the architect elegantly transformed Beau Rivage with architectural innovation and contemporary design. He has created a world of beige stone, wood, pebbles and linen- rejuvenating the venerable hotel where Chekhov and Fitzgerald used to write. Serene, chic and stylish, the Hotel Beau Rivage has been named to Conde Nast Traveller's 2005 Hot List of the world's most exquisite new hotels. The 118 rooms, including 11 junior suites, boast an aesthetic of contemporary design, equipped with flat screen plasma tvs and all the latest technology. Linen and duvets add the the warmth of local photographs and wood shutters "a la nicoise". Combining the use of space, natural materials, and minimalist decor, the architect created a luxurious atmosphere that offers comfort and functionality.
