Five Star Alliance Client Reviews - Hotel Nelligan
Lynne A., Basking Ridge, NJ. January, 2007
"Hotel Nelligan is a gem in Old Montreal. The location is perfect, and it provides a far more personal feel than the larger luxury hotels, while still allowing for privacy and discretion not always available at bed and breakfasts. The lobby and bar provide a wonderful spot to have a drink with friends, and relax after a long day. The decor strikes the right tone between comfortable and stylish. The complimentary wine and cheese is a great way to start the evening before dinner - and the continental breakfast - with papers is a great way to start the day. We received wonderful assistance with regards to sight-seeing and restaurant referrals! Finally, returning to the bedroom after a nite in old town with the soft music playing on the stereo was heavenly. "

"The best parts were the room itself, and the amenities offered."

"You couldn't ask for a more beautiful room - we had the loft suite - or a more comfortable bed. Top quality furnishings, linens, bathroom facilities (walk-in shower and large Jacuzzi). Concierge service was unfailingly quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. Breakfast and complimentary happy hour wine and cheese are served in a beautiful sunny exposed brick atrium, and on the rooftop garden. Location in heart of old Montreal is excellent, surrounded by art galleries, outstanding restaurants as well as casual eateries, light jazz clubs, museums and historic sites. Perfect for 2 on a romantic retreat."

"Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Old Montreal. The room was very spacious, the beds cozy and comfortable and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Just wonderful! The rooms were fabulous. There were special amenities in the bathrooms, which by the way were as spacious as the bedroom. Breakfast was outstanding."

"Loved the hotel. It was everything that was promised. The location was perfect. Clean and comfortable. Loved the down comforters. The bed was one of the most comfortable ever. CD music was a nice touch. Relaxing at the end of the day with wine & cheese was perfect. No complaints we highly recommend it. We travel frequently but it was the first time we used Five Star Alliance. We will certainly try you again in the future. Thank you."

"A very good place to stay in Montreal; staff exceptionally helpful. Many special touches, from afternoon wine and cheese to great continental breakfast, not to mention the healthy apples everywhere. Very attractive public areas. Great location, with lots to see in surrounding blocks. Would definitely return! This hotel is one of the best we've stayed in. It's a great place to relax and a good base for enjoying the city. The staff is exceptionally helpful with restaurants, suggestions, directions. There's much to see and do in the city, but the hotel is so pleasant that it was tempting just to sink into the big chairs in the lobby and enjoy the fire."

"The accommodations were exceptionally comfortable, and the staff were sincere in their helpfulness. We arrived on Christmas Eve, and they never begrudged the fact that they themselves were working! I liked the ambience of the public areas. You could see how the architects connected two old buildings, and the brick atrium area was the old thoroughfare betwixt them. Our room had the Jacuzzi bath and fireplace which made for a relaxing experience. The bed linens were very comfortable. We were able to walk to Gibby's and St. Amable, two restaurants that friends recommended. Also, we were right around the corner from the Cathedral for Christmas mass."
