The Gironde, covering a total surface area of 10,000 km2, is the biggest department in France and its estuary, formed by the convergence of the Garonne and the Dordogne, is so large that we even talk of the "European Mississipi".
It has the highest dune in Europe, at Le PYLA (112 m), a string of lakes, the forest of Les Landes and Gascony (the biggest forest in Europe) and 1,000,000 hectares of vineyards with legendary names and exquisite vintages.

Location Summary
- 20 minutes from the town of Bordeaux and 35 minutes from the town centre.
- 40 minutes from the Bordeaux "Gare Saint Jean" TGV station. - Follow signs for "Rocade" from the station or the town centre, and then take exit n 7 - 40 minutes from Bordeaux - Merignac airport (take the "Rocade" and follow signs for PARIS) - Once on the "Rocade", take exit n 7 and follow signs for "Pauillac". - Follow signs for "Blanquefort", "Macau" - "Labarde" and "Pauillac" on the "D2". - Go through the villages of Macau, Labarde and Cantenac to reach Margaux. - Then go through the village of Margaux, still following the "D2" and turn right when you see the large sign for the "RELAIS DE MARGAUX". - It is 2.5km from this sign through vines and pastures to the RELAIS DE MARGAUX.
Directions to Hotel
From Paris - Towards Merignac Airport, over the large bridge Aquitaine, take exit 7 in the direction of Pauillac/Verdon. Afterwards, follow Blanquefort then Macau/Labarde/Pauillac (Road D2); you will get through Macau, Labarde, Cautenac and finally arrive at Margaux. Go through the village of Margaux and at the end of the village, turn right and follow the sign for Relais de Margaux along the vineyards, after 2 km, you will reach the hotel. Arriving from the airport - Take direction Rocade Paris, then take exit 7 direction Verdon/Lacanau and follow signs for Blanquefort as described as above.
