This lovely property has been recently restored in an authentic Proven?al style. It is situated just ten minutes from the delightful town of Isle de la Sorgue, famous for its silk mills in the Middle Ages and now renowned for its Sunday antique market. The ancient water wheels from the silk mills still turn on the River Sorgue which flows through the centre of the town. Between the Luberon and Les Alpilles, this is a very convenient base for touring this area of Provence with its charming villages. The closest village, Velleron, is a few minutes drive, and the centre of Avignon is just 15 minutes away.
Access to the property is through electrically controlled gates, up a gravel driveway lined with lavender bushes. The swimming pool (12 x 6m, step access and alarm for small children) is situated close to the house, surrounded by a sun terrace with outdoor shower and a pool house with WC. On one side of the terrace is a lovely covered sitting area furnished with large, comfortable cushions. There is a covered dining area with barbecue to one side of the front terrace, and a second dining terrace with two tables. The pool and dining furniture is all good quality teak or wrought iron. Beyond the pool area is a large lawned, fenced garden, with plenty of space for children to enjoy themselves.
The spacious, light rooms are painted in lovely, subtle colours, and furnished to a very high standard in a traditional style. All the bedrooms are on the first and second floors, accessed by an attractive stone staircase with wrought iron bannister.
