The Hay-Adams Hotel — Washington, DC, United States
The Hay-Adams Hotel
Washington, DC, United States
Welcome to Washington's landmark residence of choice while visiting the nation's capital. The Hay-Adams is as close as anyone can get to staying at the White House, short of being invited by the President. Originally designed in the 1920's as a residential hotel, the Hay-Adams has always preserved the ambiance of a distinguished private home on Lafayette Square. This classic hotel takes its name from earlier residents of its site: John Hay, private assistant to President Abraham Lincoln and later secretary of state, and Henry Adams, an acclaimed author and descendant of U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams. Like their homes, the Hotel has long been a favorite gathering place in the nation's capital. The 145-room hotel features 20 suites, some with views of Lafayette Park and the White House. All guest rooms combine heritage and luxury with contemporary comfort and technology. Located in Lafayette Square and just walking distance from many of Washington D.C.'s landmarks, the Hay-Adams is the perfect place for both leisure and business travelers alike. Want to go to the National Monuments? The National Mall is just beyond the White House, about 4 blocks from the hotel. The personalized service, elegant luxury, culinary excellence and one-of-a-kind amenities have been chosen by heads of state, international business leaders and the social elite. The Hay-Adams is a destination unique to Washington. Unique in all the world. The Hay-Adams offers 145 guestrooms, including 20 suites, all of them recently renovated and featuring views of the White House, Lafayette Square or St. John's Church, the "Church of the Presidents". Lavish decor including ornamental fireplaces, intricately carved plaster ceilings and balconies adorn selected rooms. Soft tailored upholstery combined with luxurious linens make these guest quarters among the most elegant in the world. The Hay-Adams Hotel won the prestigious "Leading Hotels of the World Gold Award" in 2006.
