Sofitel Marrakech
Marrakech, Morocco
The Sofitel Marrakech Lounge & Spa is a recent hotel carefully designed to resemble a Moroccan Palace. Its traditional architectural style and ochre walls give it an undeniable charm. It consists of a series of buildings each with 4 or 5 floors allowing guests to stroll through the lovely garden full of Mediterranean plants and ensuring easy access to the beautiful swimming pool edged with tall palm trees. The Sofitel Marrakech Lounge & Spa resembles a Moorish palace with its huge lobby and in the centre, a large metal statue of a traditional water carrier like those that can still be seen today at Jamaa El Fna square. In the tradition of Moroccan hospitality each newcomer is greeted with the marhaba welcome. Through the tall glass doors that are generally left wide open, the view stretches from the flowered gardens near the pool outside all the way to the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains on the horizon.

Location Summary
On the edge of the city of a thousand and one nights, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains the Sofitel Marrakech Lounge & Spa is ideally situated on the outskirts of the neighbourhood of seasonal homes where diplomats and officials used to holiday during the winter. It is just as quick and easy to reach the bustle of the Medina as it is the serenity of one of the Marrakech's 3 golf courses. As well as being very near from the city center, it is within walking distance of the Koutoubia Mosque, Jamaa El Fna square, the Medina or the avenue Mohamed V and only a few turns from the main roads so that guests can easily escape the city for an excursion to Ourika Valley.
