Offering a beachfront location, the Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort is a contemporary condominium-style resort that recently unveiled a $6.8-million dollar renovation. The refreshed property offers a spa, oceanfront dining, infinity pool, lagoon pool with waterslide, beach amenities, and a location within walking distance to upscale restaurants, boutiques, and entertainment. Learn more about the renovation in the article below from our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor

Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa recently unveiled the results of a $6.8-million renovation, revealing a new beach-inspired color scheme, decor and furnishings.

The lobby invites guests inside with an oval-shaped great room, wood-paneled columns, and conversational groupings of curved-back sofas, lounge chairs and glass-topped tables. Furnishings are upholstered in a textured, natural shade with accent pillows in ocean blues and greens. The great room's new carpeting resembles ocean waves, while a monumental fountain on the adjacent renovated patio, refinished with mosaic tiles, serves as a focal point.

Floor-to-ceiling windows were also added in the great room and in the bar and lounge to allow for more natural light during the day. In the evening, guests can sit at the new communal high top, large enough for 14 guests, where they can wait to be seated at the resort's restaurant, 3800 Ocean. Personal electronic charging stations are available throughout the bar. In the lounge area, seats are upholstered in a pattern of deep ocean blues and tufted with nail head trim. New hardwood flooring, which has a stripe effect of light and dark woods, is meant to resemble the deck of a vintage yacht. Continue reading below the photo.

Updated amenities throughout the resort's 193 one- and two-bedroom guest suites include thicker, more textured carpeting, clean white walls, and new sofas and lounge chair fabrics. Throw pillows have a turtle pattern, inspired by Singer Island's resident sea turtle population and the resort's ongoing support of the nearby Loggerhead Marine Life Center. Guest bedrooms of two-bedroom suites also have a photo mural of driftwood rising out of the ocean.

The resort's 3,600 square feet of meeting and event space have also been refreshed with new carpeting and lighter colors, including the 1,631-square-foot Colonnade Ballroom, the Flagler Boardroom, Singer, Mizner and MacArthur meeting rooms.

There are two things I love: One is a beautiful Renaissance-style Mediterranean hotel.  The other is the spaciousness of Florida beaches. Actually, I'm pretty sure there's more than that, but these two seemed the most appropriate for the moment because I'm about to tell you about The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL.  One thing about American hotels is that they have a style all of their own, and it's rare to see European sensibilities packed up and smuggled over international waters to find a home in good ole US of A.  However, the breakers is a lovely exception to that rule.  I'm not sure how they snuck it through customs, but The Breakers brings the Italian Renaissance to Palm Beach, and its 140 acres give that style the room to breathe that it has a little more trouble finding in its native Italy.

On the property, you can find 36 holes of championship golf, 10 tennis courts, a beach club, and an extensive children's club. All this has been registered as a National Historic Place, thanks to its 100+ year history in the hotel business.  Fine dining, four oceanfront pools, and a full-service spa are all just an arm's reach away.  Not only that, for the family-minded, the hotel can connect up to five rooms together, so you can be perfectly flexible finding the arrangement that works best for your party.  As if that weren't enough, take to the seas and the skies with organized water sports, hot-air ballooning, or an air boat tour.  It's almost too much take in in just one trip.  So maybe you'll have to stay at The Breakers in Palm Beach twice.
