Five Star Perks at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco

By: Rachael Weir

Situated in the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is a 5,000-acre estate founded by Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo. One of Tuscany's largest contiguous vineyards, the 800-year-old estate encompasses the art and lifestyle of the region. The heart of the resort is formed around Borgo, the historic village, and the grounds include ancient castle ruins and a medieval church.

The property offers the Brunello di Montalcino winery, cooking school, and two highly-regarded restaurants. The Spa at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is set in the estate's former wine cellar, with its own natural body care line, sauna, steam bath, and lush private gardens. There's an 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course. Spacious suites and villas are set within the Borgo's buildings, with exposed wooden beams, pergolas, stone, wood, antiques, and bespoke furniture. Plus, some of the villas feature private pools, tennis courts, and theaters. Continue reading below for a Five Star Alliance Perk.

Fendi Suites: A Shopper's Dream Come True

By: Five Star Alliance

When visiting Rome, you can spend the night above Fendi's flagship boutique, in the Fendi Private Suites. Featuring seven elegant suites, all accommodations meld chic and creative design with Italian elegance and innovation, plus Fendi-infused touches. Set within the former palace of the Boncompagni Ludovisi Princely family, guests can dine at Zuma, situated on the rooftop, then shop at the store below (or vice versa). Read more about the Fendi Suites from our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, written by Sharri Whiting De Masi.

What can we say about the Fendi Private Suites, other than to emphasize that couture is couture and style is style. Living over a store has never been so sumptuous. Enter through the silvery elevator doors and come out to find Fendi’s innovative design translated into sleek leather sofas, floor-to-ceiling windows and signature room dividers made from woven metallic wire sandwiched between glass. Palazzo Fendi, at Via della Fontanella di Borghese 48, is right at the end of Via Condotti, Rome’s famous shopping street. Continue reading below.

Lounge at the Fendi Luxury Suites

The largest of the seven suites, all of which are located on the third floor, is the Corner Suite No. 7. Six windows flood the 650-square-foot suite with light. Wine-velvet chairs and a colorful Fendi fur-wall mosaic provide contrast to the neutral velvets and taupe leather used throughout the suite. Levanto marble lines the walls of the bathrooms in the suites, with distinctive chocolate and cream swirls. There is a deep tub and a double shower. Note: There are bathtubs in five of the seven suites, along with separate showers.

Suites 4 and 5 have adjacent doors and, though separate, can be taken together for a group stay. Suite 4 is about 550 square feet, with two tall windows overlooking Via Tomacelli. The wide-screen TV swivels to face the bedroom or the living room and there is a walk-in wardrobe.

We also visited Palazzo Suite 2, which is 550 square feet and overlooks a small piazza. There are two large windows to bring in the Roman light. This suite can connect with Palazzo Suite 1, which looks out toward the skyline above the Spanish Steps.

We loved Fendi’s use of iPads in the suites to display clever apps for navigating Rome and providing hotel info to guests, who are also offered private tours of Fendi’s amazing new flagship store. Karl Lagerfeld photos of Rome decorate the walls in every suite, providing inspiration for the visit downstairs to see his couture collection for the design house.

The hip Zuma Ristorante shares the Palazzo Fendi, offering hotel guests breakfast, as well as contemporary Japanese cuisine at lunch and dinner. The rooftop terrace at Zuma is a favorite spot for sunset cocktails.

Chic Villas at Baoase Resort in Curaçao

By: Five Star Alliance

If you are a first timer, or even a seasoned traveler, looking for a swanky villa within a luxury resort, we've got the best option for you in the Caribbean at the uber chic Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao. Nestled amidst tropical gardens and caressed by the azure water of the Caribbean Sea our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, has the following insight:

Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao is a great fit for LGBT guests and all seasoned Caribbean travelers looking for an island where everything is accepted and celebrated. The local airport, Curaçao International, is about a 25-minute drive from the resort, which also has a helipad. Hint: Guests can opt for a VIP transfer, and a chauffeur will pick them up inside Curaçao International Airport, allow them to pass through customs and immigration more quickly, bypassing the lines, and then take them to the property in a luxury car. Note: There is a private jet center at the Curaçao International airport.

Villa with private pool at the Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao

Even though the Ocean Front Villa is the most requested accommodation here, but we were told families cannot go wrong in booking the Private Pool Villa, the Superior Private Pool Villa and the Master Villa (the only one with butler service).

Note: The resort doesn't have a spa. However, guests can request treatments ranging from traditional massages and body scrubs to manicures and pedicures on the property's private beach. In-room group treatments are also available for wedding parties. Tip: Guests are advised to book spa treatments at least two days in advance.

The resort’s Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant is open to locals. The most popular fare here is "The Chef’s Menu," a full seven-course menu, which changes constantly and makes use of fresh ingredients. Additional recommended dishes include tuna tartare, lionfish and ginger cheesecake. Nice Touch: All of the seating at this restaurant is beachfront. Although it is fairly easy to get a reservation at the resort, we were told guests should book two weeks in advance to be on the safe side.

For VIPs tying the knot, the resort can do everything from buyouts to ceremonies for 10 guests and rehearsal dinners. The property can accommodate almost any over-the-top request. For instance, A-listers can hire a private jet to drop rose petals during the ceremony. Other extravagant needs that the resort has fulfilled in the past include delivering 100 flowers to a couple's room during their honeymoon, and flying in wagyu beef from Japan to meet a guests request for dinner.

Additional experiences include a bottle of champagne upon arrival; a four-course “Surprise Menu” created by the chef in a romantic gazebo set up on the beach; and private picnic on the beach.

Tip: For those VIPs looking to get some shopping done, there are some high-end jewelry shops in Punda, which is roughly a five- to 10-minute drive from the resort. The property can provide VIP transport to and from the shops.

Reimagined Spa Experience at Red Rock Resort Las Vegas

By: Five Star Alliance

Located off the Las Vegas strip, with views of the Red Rock Canyons and the strip 10 miles away, the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa pays homage to the elegant mid-century modern resorts that made Las Vegas famous, but reinvented for the 21st century.

According to our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, The Spa at Red Rock by Well & Being recently underwent a multimillion dollar upgrade that brings with it 25,000 square feet of space, 23 treatment rooms, fitness classes, nutrition guidance, integrative medicine, mind-body therapies and advance skin care. Guests looking to tap into those Hollywood elite treatments will be happy to hear that Well & Being offers Lancer skin care spa services. This specialty menu includes "The Lancer Method's Interlocking Chemistry" technique, which allows the spa products to build and work together for that flawless skin look. This is the only location outside of Dr. Lancer's dermatology office in Beverly Hills where guests can receive the treatments that include an anti-aging experience and the famous Lancer Glow Facial.

(More below)

Red Rock Resort Spa

Want more than one treatment? The top requested Lancer services include the Red Carpet Ready Facial, which gives the skin a healthy glow; The Lancer Method Facial with Oxygen to immediately tighten the skin with molecular oxygen; and the Sparkle and Glow Body Polish Treatment for adjusting body's pH levels to reveal youthful skin. For those looking to increase the cardio in their lives, we suggest trying out Tai Chi or vertical wall yoga and, of course, a spinning class is available. Guests can finish their workout with nutrition counseling, which includes tips like preparing the ideal grocery store checklists.

We think this would be a posh destination for a girls' getaway as the spa aims to create a community around health with its co-ed relaxation lounge and pool deck equipped for outdoor classes. However, just lounging on the pool sofas and sunken seating areas will also lead to the perfect weekend escape. But there is something for couples too - the VIP spa suite with an oversized bathtub and two treatment tables. Guests ages 16 and older are welcomed at the spa, which also receives walk-in clients; but it’s better to book in advance.
