Portrait Firenze
We at Five Star Alliance work tirelessly to ensure we bring you the best luxury hotels selection and information regarding amenities, location, and highlights so you are confident that the hotel you choose will exceed your expectations and serve your needs. Sometimes, however, you are left with a few questions that go unanswered, and that’s why we’re here. Be sure to explore our blog series Your Questions Answered to find answers to real questions submitted to us by our clients regarding traveling with kids, pets, the best beach hotels, and much more.

QUESTION: We are a family of 4 and looking to stay is Florence, Italy. What hotel offers the best accommodations for our family?

ANSWER: Portrait Firenze
Portrait Firenze is a select 34-suite property, including a spectacular rooftop suite and 273 square meter Penthouse Floor. It is owned by the Ferragamo family and listed among the Leading Hotels of the World. Florentine Architect Michele Bonan has given the distinguished, riverside location by the Ponte Vecchio a unique style and heritage. Portrait is inspired by the spirit of haute couture in its lavish style and its every conceivable comfort with exquisite fabrics and hand-crafted furniture. You see it in all the finest portraits. Portrait Firenze
The rippling waters of the Arno and the old-world Ponte Vecchio, framed in your lounge and bedroom window, mirror the sense of past and present in the interior design. Classic and contemporary fuse as warm wood and opaque grays are bathed in the glow of gilded details and shimmering steel. Soft materials and cozy cashmere set an aristocratic yet relaxing tone. Each sumptuous suite has its own identity and many personal flourishes.

For Your Families Needs, We Recommend:

Family Suites- The Portrait Family Suite with courtyard view offers 58 square meters of space for you and your children to revel in the cultural riches of the city. Make yourself at home in the 58 square meter Family Suite or enjoy even more space tucked atmospherically under the roof like a true Florentine in the 110 square meter Family 2 Bedroom Suite.

Whichever one you choose, both have a shared living space during the day and separate sleeping accommodation for invited friends or family at night. To accommodate everyone's needs, both have in-room cooking facilities, two bathrooms and space for all the extra luggage in multiple closets. Toys, films, and a DVD player are available and you'll find a wealth of places to visit with children on the in-room iPad. If staying in touch with the office is a necessity, there is a stylish desk in each suite with power and network connections

Countdown to the Most Haunted Hotel: The Heathman Hotel

October 29, 2014
By: K. Clare Johnson

The Heathman Hotel
Long before 50 Shades of Gray made it popular, The Heathman Hotel had a reputation as one of the most haunted hotels in America. Rooms whose numbers end in 03 are rumored to be the most haunted in the hotel. The origin of this is a guest who committed suicide by jumping out of the window of room 1003. 703 is also considered haunted, but those not comfortable with the spirit world should avoid all 03 rooms.

Guests have reported clean towels used when no one is in the room, glasses of water mysteriously emptying, and chairs moving around. Cold spots, sounds that can't be explained, and faces that appear in the dark have also been reported. Most chillingly, some guests have reported feeling a ghostly presence in bed with them.

Shudder. Talk about double occupancy.
