Your Questions Answered: Interconnecting Room Options at Miramonte Resort and Spa

October 26, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

We at Five Star Alliance work tirelessly to ensure we bring you the best luxury hotels selection and information regarding amenities, location, and highlights so you are confident that the hotel you choose will exceed your expectations and serve your needs. Sometimes, however, you are left with a few questions that go unanswered, and that’s why we’re here. Be sure to explore our new blog series ‘Your Questions Answered’ to find answers to real questions submitted to us by our clients regarding traveling with kids, pets, the best beach hotels, and much more.

Question: We’d like to stay at the Miramonte Resort and Spa, but we’re traveling with a large group of 4 adults and 2 seven year old kids. We’d like to get 2 interconnecting rooms. What room types should we book?

Answer: The Estate room with 2 queen beds or the Luxury room with 2 queen beds can accommodate a family of 2 adults and 2 kids age 7 at no extra charge. The difference between the Estate and Luxury room type is that the Luxury room type has access to a patio or balcony while the Estate room does not. The Estate king can interconnect to a Luxury Queen or to an Estate Queen. Although these interconnecting room types are currently available, interconnecting rooms would not be guaranteed and based on availability which fluctuates frequently. To view rates, availability, and to make your reservations, simply visit this website and enter your dates of travel.

Rates and availability are subject to change depending on the hotel’s policies.

Looking for Luxury at Coachella? Try the Hotel Zoso or Rancho Las Palmas

Wouldn't you want to come back to this?Tickets are going on sale for the next Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs, CA, in just a couple days, so it's time to start thinking about your hotel options.  With two subsequent weekends, April 13-15 and April 20-22, the festival is doubling your chances of seeing some of the biggest names in music, but you're also going to have to be quick to get a room if you're looking for a luxurious stay in between rocking out greats like The Black Keys and Radiohead.  Also, don't worry, Snoop Dogg should still be there to headline the last day of each weekend, despite recently running afoul of the law.  Other big names like Florence + The Machine and La Roux, along with the Arctic Monkeys will be making appearances as well, so this is not one to miss.

And where to stay when you're there?  Our luxury travel experts tell us that the two hotels with availability remaining for those weekends are Hotel Zoso and Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa.  If you're the kind of person who likes the perfect serenity of a five-star resort to rest and regenerate before charging back out into the fray, then it's well worth the $459 and $415 respectively.  You can't put a price on a good night's sleep after all day on your feet.

Icing Age: The Rancho Las Palmas Gingerbread House

December 9, 2011
By: Christopher Roney

Winter is here (or summer for our Southern friends) and that means the Holiday season is starting to get into full swing. For some in the culinary arts, this is the perfect chance to show off their skills, and the team at Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa in California have taken the challenge to heart. Their premiere pastry chef’s creation is anything but half-baked. Weighing it at over 200lbs, the grandfather of all gingerbread houses couldn’t compete in a boxing match below heavyweight. You’d likely die from a sugar overdose if you tried to bring it down to size, but at least if it came to life and made a break for it, it’d be no problem to catch.

Taking more than 100 hours to make over 15 days of work, the saccharine landscape pays homage to Ice Age, an animated film significantly faster paced than its geological counterpart. The scene features 100 rocks, 40 flowers, and 35 trees, serving as a backdrop for the 15 movie characters that define the action. All of this was baked and formed using a diverse color palette of sugary mixes.

To see the gingerbread house to end all gingerbread houses, all you have to do is book a room at the Rancho Las Palmas before Christmas, and the confectionary creation will be on display for all to see in the hotel lobby. Sweet!
