We can't imagine a better place to thaw out (after an action-packed day on the slopes) than the brand spanking new lumière Hotel, situated at 9,500 feet at the base of the mountain in Telluride Village. There are only 30 suites at this swanky boutique, with ski-in/ski-out access just steps away from the gondola. Outside Magazine calls the service comforts a little "embarrassing." Think complimentary breakfast in bed, hybird SUV service to the airport and downtown Telluride, and ski valets for schlepping your gear. (Did we mention the wine and artisan cheese awaiting you by the cozy fire?) We'd call that a five-star level of service. There's a hotel sauna, spa services, and outdoor jacuzzis, to boot.
