Trends: New Hypoallergenic Suite at the Four Seasons Chicago

August 5, 2010| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Four Seasons Hotel ChicagoNew this week in Chicago: a suite that could pave the way in inspiring a new hotel trend. The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago has unveiled a slew of new suites including the Presidential Suite, the Royal Suite, the Author's Suite, and most notably- the Hypoallergenic Suite, the first suite of its kind. Sure, hypoallergenic rooms can be found at hotels worldwide, as The Independent points out, but this suite is wholly unique, decked out with a "hardwood floor, special bedding and toiletries and shades instead of curtains." Designed by Pierre Yves Rochon, the allergen-free suite is cleaner than clean, and offers breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. (Get this: Apparently there are 4.6 million particles per cubic foot in outside air and 3.7 million in a normal hotel room, according to PURE solutions, a company that specializes in providing allergen-free rooms and guarantees only 377,000 particles per cubic foot in a PURE hotel room.)
