As if The Berkeley didn't have enough draws already (the happening Blue Bar, Pret-a-Portea (Fashionista's Afternoon Tea), the acclaimed Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley), the Knightsbridge hotel is pulling out all the stops for a fab summer in London. The buzz in town? The opening of the highly-anticipated new eatery called Koffmann's, which marks the return of the celebrated French chef to The Berkeley, where he operated La Tante Claire for many years. Celebrating French provincial gastronomy and particularly Gascon cuisine, the menu is informal but no less magnificent than Koffmann's much-praised haute cuisine. In fact, the menu du jour promises to be a great value.More summer fun at The Berkeley: film screenings on the rooftop terrace. This past winter, the Health Club & Spa transformed its terrace for the first time into a pine-filled winter wonderland where guests watched winter classics on the big screen while sipping hot chocolate and getting cozy under pashminas. The private cinema is back for Friday evenings in June, July, and August. Tubs of ice cream and popcorn included.
