Hot in New York City: QT at The Standard Hotel
October 7, 2009By: Mary Winston Nicklin
The praise doesn't stop coming for The Standard New York, the architectural triumph that straddles the city's new High Line park. "André Balazs' emphatically nonstandard Standard Hotel," says New York Magazine. "The Meatpacking District continues to heat up with the arrival of The Standard," says the International Herald Tribune. From this dramatic perch, rooms have breathtaking views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows (and attract a fair share of exhibitionists who strut their stuff for passers-by on the High Line below). The latest buzz surrounds the opening of the new QT bar on the 18th floor, what Mr. & Mrs. Smith's blog calls "a Seventies-inspired dream den," "a sky-high space" with "full-circle views of Manhattan and the Hudson." Formerly the bar was called the Boom Boom Room.Related article:
