From Trump to Four Seasons: A New Crop of Luxury Hotels in Toronto
May 25, 2010By: Mary Winston Nicklin
What economic downturn? A slew of five-star hotels will be sprouting up in Toronto this year. This bumper crop of new luxury hotels-- all featuring condominium components-- will join the ranks of the city's best addresses, like the Four Seasons and the Windsor Arms in the Yorkville district. As described by the Toronto Star, "the city is going from feast to famine with an unprecedented building spree of luxury brands. Competition will be fierce in the upper end as consumers will be bombarded with serious choice for the first time in the city’s history." Here's the list of projects in the works: a Ritz-Carlton which will open in the next few months, the Trump International next year, a new Four Seasons next year, followed by a Shangri-La on University Avenue.
