Forget Check-Out Time! Living Full-Time at The Carlyle in New York

December 1, 2010| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

The Carlyle, New YorkTalk about getting seriously spoiled! For Broadway icon Elaine Stritch, now "co-starring in the Tony Award-winning revival" of "A Little Night Music," The Carlyle is her permanent home. The legendary luxury hotel on Madison Avenue in Manhattan's Upper East Side overlooking Central Park is known for its lavish amenities (like Sense, A Rosewood Spa) and top-notch service (even canine guests get spoiled with beds and bowls, pet snacks, Fiji water, and a dog walking service). As quoted in a recent profile in the New York Post, Stritch says, "I'm a hotel baby. I’ve always lived in hotels, but I'm very picky. I love living at the Carlyle. They spoil me. So I keep getting worse and worse. I get more demanding, I run the show, what I say goes. But I have a feeling that the people here like me." She goes on to describe the staff at the hotel: "All the people who service you here are so down to earth. That's what real class is.”
