It's time for Friday happy hour in London. Where to go to taste some innovative cocktails and tapas-style bar bites at reasonable prices? Check out the newly refurbished Berry Bar & Lounge at the Hilton London Green Park, situated in the heart of Mayfair. After a major makeover, the bar sports relaxed, contemporary interiors and offers a selection of gin-focused food and drink items. Hence the name: paying homage to the juniper berry. Besides the usual line-up of wines and spirits, the Berry Bar & Louge has lots of premium gins such as Beefeater 24, No. 3, Martin Miller’s, Tanqueray 10 and Chase. All gin and tonic drinks are served with Fever Tree tonics and priced from £6.95. But perhaps most fun of all: the new range of gin cocktails, including the Earl Grey Martini, the house signature, served at the table in a frozen tea pot (ingredients are: Earl Grey infused Beefeater gin shaken with lemon juice and syrup de gomme for £8.95). We also like the sound of the Ginger Fizz, combining Bombay Sapphire with fresh ginger and bitters, and The London Lemonade, made with Plymouth gin and elderflower. You can also get your gin on with the Gin Afternoon Tea, served exclusively at Berry Bar & Lounge. In addition to the traditional sandwiches, scones, tea and cakes, the Beefeater 24 Afternoon Tea (£24.50 per person) includes a Beefeater 24 Gin and Fever Tree tonic with a choice of four Fee Brothers bitters (peach, grapefruit, mint and chocolate) for customers to flavor the drink at the table.
Cheers!
