The culmination of the adventure? Summiting the peak. The package also allows time for rejuvenation at Allegria Spa. Priced at $1,574 per person, based on double occupancy, the package includes four nights accommodations at "the most luxurious base camp in the world," a $225 spa credit good for two spa treatments at the Allegria Spa, a welcome bag including: LEKI hiking poles, Salomon backpack, Smartwool socks, ball cap and more, an arrival and a farewell dinner, daily breakfast and lunch (with water for hikes), professional hiking guides and transportation to hiking trails, all resort fees and valet parking. Dispatch from France: The Fabulous Spa at Hotel du Palais, Biarritz

The spa at this Atlantic-facing imperial palace hotel, beloved by Empress Eugénie (wife of Napoleon III), has been racking up the awards since its opening in mid-2006.
