The honeymoon is a true once-in-a-lifetime experience, a chance to show the person ou're going to spend the rest of your life with just how much you love them and just how beautiful and amazing the coming years are going to be. So it makes sense that you'd want to take them to a place of perfection, where the waters are blue and the sand is soft between your toes. Peter Island Resort is just that place, and there's a reason it made our list of top Honeymoon destinations. The resort was named one of the 20 Top Islands and Best Places to Stay in the World by Conde Nast Traveler. Only 52 rooms means that staff outnumbers the guests, and you'll have that private, exclusive feel that a honeymoon deserves. The sparkling Caribbean waters serves as the perfect backdrop for open-air restaurants and an elegant wine bar. Head underwater to spy some sea turtles while snorkeling in the pristine ocean or go inland for nature hikes that are sure to delight. Peter Island seeks to combine the privacy and comfort of your own villa with the world-class service and amenities of a resort. And in such an idyllic location, I can't think of a better place to go for your honeymoon than The Peter Island Resort.

Normally when you talk about luxury travel, alongside high-quality service, you're looking for convenience. But occasionally another kind of luxury comes along, where exclusivity trumps ease of travel, and the feeling of remote tropical beaches is worth an extra leg of the journey. The Biras Creek Resort is just such a hotel. Situated on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, it is only accessible by boat or helicopter. Even day travelers using the marina aren't allowed full access to the resort's facilities. But if you get on the bouncer's shortlist, you'll be enjoying swimming, sailing, and snorkeling around a 140-acre peninsula surrounded by three distinct bodies of water: a protected island lagoon, the Caribbean Bay, and the vast Atlantic Ocean. You couldn't ask for a more romantic site for a trip-for-two.
Thirty-one suites each hold a special privacy, and the limited number of guests means you can quickly establish a rapport with the bartender, who will come to know your favorite drink, and maybe even have it ready for you when you roll up to the bar. The Biras Creek Resort is the perfect balance of elegance and soft-spoken, informal exclusivity.

Hurricane Irene is sweeping across the Caribbean, heading straight towards the Southeast United States, leaving lots of damage in its wake. Even Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island-- a favorite private island retreat for celebrities-- has not escaped the storm's wrath. The resort's 14-bedroom "Great House" caught fire from a lightning storm caused by the hurricane. Kate Winslet, who was staying in the house with her children, reportedly rescued the British magnate's 90 year old mom from the fire. Branson explained: "She said it's like being in a film set where you're waiting for the words 'cut' but they just don't come. So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation." Located in the British Virgin Islands, Necker Island was the setting for the 2010 Victoria's Secret Catalogue shoot and is a playground for royalty and Hollywood stars. (Google's co-founder Larry Page was married there in 2007.) Branson is planning to rebuild the house ASAP.
