Question: We would like to stay in a smaller hotel near the French Quarter in a suite with a king bed plus smaller bed or two rooms. Which hotel do you recommend?
Answer: We would recommend the W New Orleans French Quarter hotel. It has only 98 rooms and it's located in the heart of the French Quarter. For three adults, we would recommend reserving the room with 2 queen beds which starts from $409 per night or reserving 2 separate rooms. Five Star Alliance's sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, recently wrote an article about the brand new spa at The Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans. Read more here:
The Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans has wrapped up its plush $22 million renovation, revealing a fresh look and a new 4,500-square-foot spa, which has mother-of-pearl tiles and Swarovski crystals lining the ceiling.
Guests can plug in their iPods while enjoying a range of treatments, from facials and massage therapy to salon services, including hair, nails and waxing. The sauna and steam room, along with a brand-new outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and adjacent fitness center, are available for use before or after treatments.
Impressive Touch: The Spa's signature facials feature professional products combined with exclusive Oxygen therapy, LED light and microdermabrasion techniques. For a glowing finish, the "Rarefied Heir Oxygen Facial-O2" uses compressed oxygen to calm the skin and reduce redness. The "Reigning Light Facial-LED" provides an antiaging boost with ultimate deep pore cleansing, super strength exfoliation, thorough extractions, skin specific mask and full-face LED treatment. For guests seeking the total package, "The Royal Facial-Microdermabrasion+LED+O2" combines all three techniques to provide antiaging, cleansing and hydrating results.
For a continued glow, guests can purchase product lines from the spa boutique, including brands such as Phytomer, Cellx-C, Molton Brown, Clarisonic, Moroccanoil and Soulstice.
Hint: The recently debuted Cocktail Bar is a great spot for further relaxation—where guests can enjoy live jazz while sipping one of mixologist Christine Nielson's craft cocktails.
The entire Windsor Court Hotel has a new look, with updated décor and added amenities to all rooms and suites, as well as public spaces including Le Salon, The Grill Room and Polo Club Lounge.

Starting on January 25th, if you're going to be in the New Orleans area, make sure to check out the newly reopened Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone. Hotel Monteleone is maybe the iconic hotel of the Bourbon Street area, and the reopened bar is being celebrated with quiet the kickoff event. Starting the six month countdown to the Tales of the Cocktail festival, the reopening will feature special previews of the coming 10th anniversary event, including the festival's first book, Tales of the Cocktail from A to Z. Not only that, the world-record centerpiece by bead artist Stephan Wanger will be on display and you can view the fine artwork while sipping from your very own complimentary Old Fashioned. Continue the festivities with a performance by Robin Barnes.
Alongside the reopening, Hotel Monteleone has announced the coming year's regular performers, always free at the Carousel Bar whether you're staying at the hotel or just in the area. Joining Robin Barnes will be the Luther Kent Quartet, Eudora Evans & Band, the George French Jazz Quartet, and legacy showing Lena Prima, daughter of the Monteleone regular, Louis Prima, in the sixties. While other hotels might give you similar luxury, none will be closer to the Jazz culture at the heart of New Orleans than the Hotel Monteleone.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for another article from yours truly! Don’t know who I am? That’s okay, sometimes I wake up in a fit of existential angst and ask myself the same the question. But regardless, I have some great news that I’m sure you’ll be excited to hear: The Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans has a suite of featured events for the hotel seasons, including the grand reopening of its cocktail bar. And with signature drinks such as the Joyous Noel or Papa’s Nightcap, they’ll warm your heart and your belly. I’m not even going to tell you what happens during the Very Bad Santa Crawl, but needless to say, if you’re even thinking of staying there on December 10th, it’s a must-see. If you’d rather be a good Santa, they’re offering a children’s holiday tea time. And Christmas day things really cut loose, gourmet-style. And by that, I mean a family feast prepared by their signature chefs. If you’re looking to get away to more cajun climes for the holidays, I can’t think of a better place than the Hotel Monteleone.
