QUESTION: What St Lucia resort would you recommend for a family of 4, children ages 15 and 16?
ANSWER: Ladera St. Lucia
Ladera was once part of Rabot Estate, one of Soufriere's oldest and most famous cocoa plantations. In 1982 it was transformed into the unique resort it is today. Taking full advantage of its natural surroundings, Ladera offers a unique design in guest accommodations. The 32 suites, each with a private pool, overlooking the famous Piton Mountains, a UNESCO World heritage site, the Caribbean Sea and the Soufriere valley. Ladera is know for its distinctive eco-lodge architecture, built with Caribbean timbers and modeled on luxury tree-house living, and a relaxed, barefoot lifestyle. The suites were intentionally built without a fourth wall, yet are designed to be sheltered, safe, and completely private. The design affords spectacular sunset views and unobstructed star gazing at night. Seven luxurious Dream Suites complement the Piton Suites. With two levels of living space, the Dream Suites also feature the famously unobstructed views and are designed in Ladera's elegant tropical architecture, using polished hard woods, crisp white linens and colorful tile and stone work by local artisans. A private deck and a spiral staircase lead to a private pool.
Ladera is pleased to offer a range of sightseeing activities on and around St. Lucia that will allow you to appreciate the uniqueness of its Caribbean history and the magnificence of its tropical location. Dasheene Restaurant sets itself apart by focusing on sustainable cooking sourced from locally harvested ingredients. Chef Nigel Mitchel's kitchen is dedicated to serving up fresh native ingredients from island farmers and neighboring plantations that grow their produce primarily for the resort.
The Ti Kai Pose Spa at Ladera features indulgent treatments inspired by Saint Lucia's volcanic history and the lush rainforest that surrounds this peaceful retreat.
