Fun Fact Friday! September is National Bourbon Heritage Month

September 14, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

It’s National Bourbon Heritage Month, an observance created by the U.S. Senate five years ago, and Miami is embracing the celebratory spirit (no pun intended). Turnberry Isle Miami is celebrating with daily bourbon tastings through the end of September every night at 6:00PM. For $20, mixologist Peter Roca serves up samplings of Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve, Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23 Year and A. H. Hirsch Reserve 16 Year along with the restaurant’s signature butter truffle popcorn. This sounds like the perfect opportunity to get the college gang together for a reunion and discuss the world over bourbon and cigars. Make your reservations at the Turnberry Isle Miami here >>

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Tie the Knot Near Charleston

September 10, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

Rumor has it that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got hitched this past weekend at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. This plantation has been open to the public since 1956, and it’s one of America’s oldest working, living plantations. The reception took place in a charming white tent, and Florence Wench, of Florence and the Machine, performed three songs live. Reynolds, previously married to Scarlet Johansen for 2 years, went back on the market when the couple divorced in 2010. We wish them the very best in their marriage and look forward to viewing a few wedding photos! If you’d like to visit this charming plantation for yourself for a wedding or simply a tour, make a reservation at a luxury hotel in Charleston which is just outside the plantation.

Toronto’s International Film Festival is upon us, and with that comes an influx of movie stars and luxury hotels pulling out all the stops for its guests. The Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto received quite a bit of hype since it’s the new kid on the block that opened last January, but the Hazelton Hotel took it to a completely new level with its $99,900 bed installation. The Vividus (yes, the bed has a name), is made with Arctic Circle forest-sourced pine, hand-laid springs, and a “carefully balanced blend of hand-teased horsehair, cotton, wool and flax.” Want to experience the most comfortable bed in the world for yourself? Make your reservations at the Hazelton Hotel here!
