Creepy Crawler Tea at the Windsor Court Hotel, New Orleans

Windsor Court Hotel, New OrleansFirst creepy crawly cocktails... Now an Afternoon Tea! From London to New Orleans, luxury hotels are pulling out all the stops for a happy Halloween this year. The Windsor Court Hotel-- the only Forbes Four Star and AAA Four Diamond hotel in Louisiana-- has teamed up with the Audubon Insectarium to treat guests to a "Creepy Crawler Tea" in honor of Halloween. Taking place in Windsor Court's Le Salon on October 22 and 23, the tea will have all kinds of Halloween-inspired treats and teas: Pumpkin Spiced Chai, Cranberry Blood Orange Tea, and for the adults- a “Bloody” Orange Martini made with Mandarin vodka, blood orange juice and Grand Marnier garnished with a blood orange slice. On display on each table: terrariums filled with creepy crawlers like spiders, scorpions, and centipedes sure to delight the kids, donning their Halloween best. (Read: Costumes welcome!)

This is the second annual "Creepy Crawler Tea"- back by popular demand. Guests can choose from a Classic Tea service for $28 or a Royal Tea service for $35, which includes smoked salmon and caviar canapés and a glass of sherry, house sparkling wine or chardonnay. The children’s tea, for children 5 years of age and younger, is $17.

The Hotel Monteleone has launched its second and final social media-based trip giveaway to New Orleans in conjunction with its 125th Anniversary. The contest, “History, Holidays and the Hotel Monteleone,” is running through the Hotel’s Facebook page and will end on November 4 at 11:59 p.m. (CST). The prize includes round-trip airfare to New Orleans from any location in the continental United States, a two-night stay in one of the hotel’s luxury suites, a signed copy of the Hotel’s 125th Anniversary history book, "Hotel Monteleone: More Than a Landmark, The Heart of New Orleans Since 1886," and a set of limited edition 125th Anniversary Mignon Faget cocktail glasses.

How to enter? It couldn't be easier. Simply visit the Hotel Monteleone’s Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/hotelmonteleone and click “Like” if you're not already a fan. Next, click "Contest" on the Left sidebar. Contestants must enter their first and last names, state and email address. That’s it. After sustaining serious damage from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Hyatt Regency New Orleans underwent a $275 million dollar renovation and redesign, and will be reopening to much fanfare in October 2011. Billed as one of the "most significant hospitality developments in New Orleans in over a decade," the restored hotel is now the city’s premier meeting and convention hotel- having doubled its meeting and exhibition space. Anchoring the Sports and Entertainment District in downtown New Orleans, the 32-storey hotel has 1,193 guest rooms and expansive food and beverage offerings. News from NOLA: The Hyatt Regency New Orleans has partnered with Make It Right-- Brad Pitt's nonprofit-- on a fundraising campaign to build 150 environmentally friendly homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward, the neighborhood hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
