Question: We would like a fee quote for our annual training event for September 25-29, 2012. We will need 15 single rooms and 10 double. We will have 4 training days and need a room with capability to hold 50-55 people in school style. We will also need breakfast and lunch buffet for 4 days and 2 coffee breaks per day for 4 days.

Get Into the Spirit of the Olympics without Crossing the Pond

August 3, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

If a trip to London wasn’t in the cards for you this summer but you still want to catch the spirit of the games, then check out one of these hotels! The Waldorf Astoria Park City in Utah, home of the 2002 Olympics is offering private ice skating lessons with a member of the U.S. National Speed Skating Team and an Olympic hopeful. Available through September 12th, 2012, this lesson is $120 per adult for a 2 hour time frame and it certainly looks to be educational, exhilarating, and only slightly embarrassing. The Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia is offering a ‘Go for the Gold’ deal which features 20% off the best available rate whenever Team USA wins a gold. Guests already checked into the hotel during the time of a gold medal winning will receive a $20 resort credit that can be applied toward golf, dining, or spa purchases. We’re proud to be American and we love that these hotels are embracing the American spirit and giving guests a way to enjoy the Olympics even more!

A Sneak Peak into the James Royal Palm in Miami Beach

July 31, 2012
By: Oksana Balytsky

Featured as one of Forbes Magazine’s “top 10 most anticipated openings of 2012,” the James Royal Palm is certainly making a splash in the Miami Beach hotel arena. This luxurious beachfront property is situated in the heart of South Beach, Florida and is immersed in a new and vibrant scene. Aside from a new and swanky luxury hotel popping up in South Beach, we’re especially exited for the hotel’s pools (yes, that’s plural), its beautiful interior design, and its full service spa with salt-infused treatments. The interior of the James Royal Palm was created by Rottet Studio, and here’s what Lauren Rottet had to say about her inspiration in Boutique Design magazine: "After eating in some Cuban cafes and talking with local artists, I started thinking about Jean-Michel Basquiat (the late graffiti/neo-expressionist artist) meeting Virginia Woolf at the James and staying up long into the night talking about art and poetry." Not quite what we would imagine to be the driver of inspiration, but we certainly love the outcome and encourage you to make your reservations come this October to be among the first to experience the James Royal Palm!

The Peninsula New York is launching a monthly rooftop French film series starting this Monday, July 30th. The series is called “Ciné Sous Les Étoiles,” and it will feature classics such as A Very Long Engagement, Chocolat, The Artist, and Amelie, a 2001 romantic comedy which will kick start the series this Monday. The movies will be shown at Salon De Ning’s West Terrace the last Friday of every month, and cocktails as well as snacks such as popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, and ice cream will be served throughout the screening. No reservations are needed, but there is a one cocktail minimum requirement. We can’t think of a better way to generate buzz for Peninsula’s next big luxury hotel opening in Paris than creating a Parisian feel in the heart of New York City!

Question: We will be in Vienna from August 6th – 13th, 2012. It will be 1 adult and 3 kids ages 6, 9, 11. Can you please provide us with what room options would be able to accommodate us?

Answer: Unfortunately, the majority of the luxury hotels in Vienna have a maximum occupancy of 3 people. However, the Hotel Bristol Vienna has a 1 bedroom suite that is 830 square feet and features views of the Opera House that can interconnect with a Classic room with a king size bed. The 1 bedroom suite is currently $1,024 per night and the Classic room is $336.52 per night inclusive of taxes. The Hotel Sacher Wien has a 2 bedroom suite option that would be able to accommodate all 4 of you, and it currently has a rate of 2,400 Euros per night, inclusive of taxes and hotel fees. To make a reservation for either of these hotels, simply click on the hotel name links, enter your dates of travel, select your room type, and fill in the booking form. To make a reservation for 2 interconnecting rooms, simply complete one reservation after the other, and fill in the special request stating that you will be traveling with children and would like your rooms to interconnect. This request cannot be guaranteed but the hotels do their best to accommodate these kinds of requests.

Please be advised that the rates, availability, as well as the extra person charges are subject to change depending on the hotel’s policies.
